Description
Isaac
Few and far between have been the commentaries on the life of Isaac. Therefore, with great pleasure, we reprint from the pages of "The Bible Treasury" this comprehensive treatment of that peaceful patriarch who so beautifully prefigured our Lord Jesus Christ. For it was our Lord Himself who said, "Search the Scriptures. . . they are they which testify of me." (Jn. 5 :39) Such testimony of Christ will be abundantly found throughout this book. For example, writing of Isaac`s initial meeting with Rebekah, the author says: "Yes, the Bridegroom is coming! And the Spirit crying, Come ye forth to meet Him. It is good to work for Him; it is better far to wait for Him; nor is there any more needed guard or more precious guide and spring for us in the Spirit for our work than this blessed hope . . . And our Bridegroom has no such need to hear like Isaac what the servant had to tell; yet He in the communion of the Holy Spirit, one doubts not, takes all interest in her whom He loved as His own for heaven." A few minor grammatical and spelling corrections have been made. Otherwise it remains as originally written by the author. We warmly commend it to the saints for blessing and edification.
