Description
God has a right to do as He pleases—man doesn’t. Man wants to bind God to certain laws of man’s own, and to chain God’s sovereign will, refusing to admit that God can act outside man’s rules. Once we know that all our blessing hinges upon God’s absoluteness—and that this absoluteness is pleased to display itself in mercy, in which He delights—everything changes. In fact, we have no more right to claim our soul’s salvation from Him, than we have power to change places with Him on His throne of glory! We may have grace given to surrender this supposed claim. We put ourselves before Him, conscious that He has a right to do just as it pleases Him.
The Apostle Paul’s life illustrates for the Christian the wonderful work of God to form God’s vessel for His own use. That process is presented clearly from Scripture in A Chosen Vessel.
